EFW has finalized its inaugural A330 freighter conversion agreement in China.

Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW), a collaboration between ST Engineering and Airbus, has expanded its footprint in the Chinese aviation sector by signing a contract with Hengqin Winglet Aircraft Technology for the conversion of Airbus A330 passenger aircraft to freighters. The conversion will occur at a partner facility in China, starting in mid-2026, with support from EFW’s headquarters in Dresden. This partnership enhances EFW’s presence in a market experiencing rising demand for freighters due to growth in logistics and e-commerce, as emphasized by both CEOs involved in the project.
