Singapore has initiated its first trial for the central procurement of voluntary Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) through a collaborative framework involving the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), the Singapore Sustainable Aviation Fuel Company (SAFCo), and nine partner organizations, including major companies like Singapore Airlines and Google. The trial, formalized by a Memorandum of Understanding at the 3rd Changi Aviation Summit on February 2, 2026, aims to test the operational and commercial processes for a national SAF procurement system. This initiative will help develop a robust SAF ecosystem, supporting Singapore's target of using 1% SAF for flights by October 2026.
