The Los Angeles Board of Harbor Commissioners has approved $1.85 million in grants for 47 non-profit organizations through the Port of Los Angeles Community Investment Grant Program. Commissioner President Lucille Roybal-Allard emphasized the program's importance in supporting local initiatives. Since 2014, over $14.5 million has been allocated to 422 groups. Grants were divided into large (over $100,000) and general (under $100,000) categories, with notable recipients including the Los Angeles Maritime Institute and Avalon Arts & Cultural Alliance, each receiving two-year agreements.
