Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) is advancing its locomotive fleet renewal, continuing a multi-year investment of US$800 million in American manufacturing. After acquiring 100 Wabtec Tier 4 locomotives, CPKC plans to purchase 30 more from Progress Rail in 2026, alongside the delivery of 70 additional Wabtec units this year. CPKC's Executive Vice President emphasized this investment aims to enhance fleet reliability and fuel efficiency, supporting growth and maintaining high service standards for the North American economy.
