In 2025, the Port of Prince Rupert processed 26.3 million tonnes of cargo, marking a 14% increase from 2024, driven by significant infrastructure investments. Kurt Slocombe, Interim President of the Prince Rupert Port Authority, credited the collaborative efforts of the workforce and partners in enhancing capacity and market speed. Intermodal traffic rose 20% to 885,797 TEUs, while demand for energy products remained steady, with notable increases in LPG shipments and agricultural exports. Additionally, the port is advancing major projects worth over $3 billion to further enhance logistics and cargo diversity by mid-2026.
