Swissport launches its inaugural perishables hub in the UK at Heathrow Airport.

Swissport has opened its first dedicated perishables center in the UK at London Heathrow Airport, enhancing its global cold chain network and capacity for temperature-sensitive cargo. Launched with Scan Global Logistics as its inaugural client, the facility aims to improve handling of seafood and fresh produce. Covering 2,694 square meters and capable of handling 30,000 tonnes annually, it features temperature-controlled areas and a Border Inspection Post for efficient clearance. Plans include installing an EMIS screening system by 2026 to streamline processing, addressing the growing demand for reliable logistics in seafood exports.
