Silk Way West Airlines reinforces its presence in Houston by launching cargo services to Baku.

Houston Airports has announced an enhancement in international air cargo operations at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), with Silk Way West Airlines set to introduce a second weekly freighter flight to Baku, Azerbaijan, starting January 10, 2026. This new service, utilizing a Boeing 747-8F freighter, will provide a direct link and double the airline's capacity at IAH. The expansion reflects Houston's growing role as a global cargo hub, supporting high-demand commodities and generating significant economic impact, with projections of record cargo movement in 2025.
