Macy's plans to reduce its workforce by nearly 1,000 employees at its fulfillment center in Connecticut.

Macy's is set to lay off 993 employees due to the closure of its fulfillment center in Cheshire, Connecticut, as announced in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act notice. Job eliminations will occur in phases based on shifts and classifications, with the last positions, including maintenance staff, remaining until April 2027. Severance and benefits information will be provided, and impacted roles include various operational positions. This closure is part of broader changes in Macy's supply chain strategy aimed at achieving $235 million in cost savings this year.
