Maersk is set to resume its MECL service along the trans-Suez route due to improved stability in the Red Sea, enhancing transit efficiency while prioritizing safety. Following successful transits of Maersk Sebarok and Maersk Denver, this change aims to restore the original service pattern, connecting the Middle East and India with the US East Coast. Maersk will closely monitor regional security and has contingency plans if conditions worsen. The first westbound sailing on this route will be the Cornelia Maersk on January 15, 2026, with the first eastbound voyage, Maersk Detroit, departing on January 10, 2026.
