The U.S. Postal Service plans to expand its dimensional reporting requirements to include all package sizes starting July 12, which may lead to additional fees for some shippers. Currently, only parcels over 1 cubic foot or 22 inches require accurate dimensions. The new rule will apply to all shipments using certain services, with a noncompliance fee for those that do not meet the requirements. This change could particularly affect businesses that generate USPS labels without measuring dimensions, potentially prompting them to switch carriers or adjust operations to avoid fees. Public comments on the proposal are open until February 9.
