Amazon has initiated drone flights from its Darlington fulfillment center in preparation for its Prime Air delivery service, set to launch in the UK in 2026. Utilizing the MK30 drone, which features advanced safety technology to avoid obstacles, the service aims to deliver packages weighing up to five pounds within two hours. While deliveries are not yet operational, the project has received approval from the UK Civil Aviation Authority, focusing on noise reduction and safety standards. Eligible Prime customers will eventually be able to opt for drone delivery through the Amazon app or website.
