UPS is set to close or reduce operations at four facilities in North Carolina, Michigan, and Alabama, affecting at least 195 employees. Locations include Kinston and Cadillac, which will close, and Wyoming and Montgomery, where day sort operations will end. This move is part of UPS's larger "Network Reconfiguration" initiative aimed at cutting costs and reducing its operational workforce significantly. The company has already closed numerous facilities and plans to continue adjusting its network to align with changing volume demands, with projected savings of around $2.2 billion.
