Barq Group and Elroy Air have entered into a $200 million agreement to establish a cargo drone facility.

Barq Group and Elroy Air have formed a $200 million joint venture in Abu Dhabi to manufacture and service the Chaparral autonomous cargo aircraft, enhancing logistics capabilities in the MENA region. This facility will produce a hybrid-electric VTOL aircraft capable of carrying 300 pounds over 300 miles and provide maintenance services. The venture aims to meet the growing demand for autonomous logistics while contributing to the local economy and creating skilled jobs. Initial operations are slated for 2027, with local production expected to begin in 2028.
