Bechtel has been chosen by Harmony to oversee the Eva Copper Mine Project in Northwest Queensland, aiming to establish a significant open-pit copper mining operation. This project will be the region's largest copper initiative and a vital part of Australia's critical minerals strategy, contributing to the global energy transition. Following a successful engineering design update and investment decision in November 2025, Bechtel will serve as the Engineering Procurement and Construction partner, with production expected to start in 2028. Construction is set to begin in 2026, creating jobs and opportunities for local suppliers.
