Kansas Modification Center (KMC) has made significant progress in its 777 passenger-to-freighter (P2F) conversion program, specifically the 777-300ERCF, by removing the existing door structure to facilitate a new cargo door. The reinstallation of cargo door skins and frames has begun, with plans for post-modification flight testing and certification set for the third quarter of 2026. KMC anticipates ground and flight testing in early 2026, with a supplemental type certificate expected by October 2026. The company has secured substantial orders for this program, including 10 aircraft from Backbone Freighters Leasing.
