Air India has faced challenges in its cargo and passenger operations due to the closure of Pakistani airspace to Indian airlines, a situation exacerbated by ongoing geopolitical tensions. This has led to increased fuel consumption and longer flight routes, particularly affecting long-haul services to Europe and North America. Gagan Gupta, Head of Cargo Operations, noted that other airlines have filled the capacity void, particularly on routes like Bengaluru–London. Air India is adapting by strengthening interline agreements with various carriers to enhance its global connectivity and exploring new partnerships, particularly in Latin America.
