TAC Index: Air freight prices remain strong in the late December market.

Global air freight rates increased by 2.4% last week, nearing the end of the peak season, according to TAC Index data. The Baltic Air Freight Index (BAI00) is only slightly down by 0.8% year-over-year. Rates from China to Europe and the US were lower, while outbound routes from Hong Kong and Shanghai saw gains. European rates rose on Transatlantic routes but fell slightly to India and South America. North American rates showed mixed results, with declines to Europe and China, while rates from Mexico to Europe remained stable year-over-year.
