Kuehne+Nagel and SWISS are supporting Synhelion in the expansion of synthetic sustainable aviation fuel production.

Kuehne+Nagel and Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) have enhanced their partnership to promote sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding. This collaboration focuses on the market introduction of solar-based synthetic fuels from Swiss cleantech firm Synhelion, which converts sunlight into renewable liquid hydrocarbons. The agreement includes a long-term SAF offtake commitment, enabling Kuehne+Nagel to purchase Synhelion's SAF from SWISS starting in 2027 for air cargo shipments. This initiative aims to reduce lifecycle emissions and support the decarbonization of the aviation sector.
