Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI) has received approval from India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for its supplemental type certificate (STC ST02690LA) for the Boeing 737-800SF freighter conversion. This certification complements AEI's approvals from various global aviation authorities. Chennai-based Afcom Holding Limited plans to lease an AEI B737-800SF for operations in India. Robert T. Convey from AEI highlighted that this validation opens opportunities for Indian cargo operators, especially in the growing e-commerce sector, thanks to the aircraft's capacity and economic efficiency. The freighter can carry a payload of up to 52,700 lbs and features advanced loading systems for operational efficiency.
