Amazon has decreased energy usage in its grocery fulfillment centers by nearly 15% through a pilot program with Trane Technologies, utilizing the BrainBox AI tool to autonomously manage temperature and ventilation. Following this success, Amazon plans to expand the technology to over 30 facilities and stores by 2026. The company aims for carbon neutrality by 2040, but it recently reported a 6% increase in emissions for 2024. Amazon is also testing an in-store micro-fulfillment center and enhancing grocery shipping options across its logistics network.
