Hormel Foods experienced rising pork and beef prices in fiscal 2025, alongside constrained turkey supplies due to avian flu, as highlighted by interim CFO Paul Kuehneman. Cost inflation for pork products increased significantly, while beef prices also rose. Although Hormel implemented pricing strategies to mitigate these impacts, they couldn't fully offset margin losses within the fiscal year. To address these challenges, Hormel launched a Transform and Modernization initiative aimed at optimizing the supply chain. This project is expected to help counter inflation and improve margins in fiscal 2026, despite ongoing high beef costs and limited turkey supplies.
