Amazon is piloting a new service called Amazon Now, offering grocery and household item deliveries in under 30 minutes in Seattle and Philadelphia, with costs around $14 per order ($4 for Prime members). To support this service, Amazon has set up small fulfillment centers near customers. Despite closing more stores than it has opened in recent years, Amazon is enhancing its delivery capabilities, aiming for quicker service across the U.S. This initiative could strengthen Prime's appeal and boost advertising revenues, although initial margins may be low.
