On November 21, 2025, a fire broke out on the docked container ship ONE HENRY HUDSON in San Pedro, prompting a coordinated response from multiple agencies, including the Los Angeles City Fire Department and the Coast Guard. Nearly 200 firefighters tackled the blaze, which presented challenges due to its location in inaccessible areas. Fortunately, all 23 crew members were safely evacuated without injuries. After extensive firefighting efforts, the ship was moved out to sea for further operations. Shelter-in-place orders were lifted by the morning of November 22, and ongoing fire suppression and air quality monitoring continued as salvage operations commenced.
