Giant Eagle has expanded its partnership with Flybuy to enhance its last-mile delivery service, aiming to reduce delivery driver wait times by over 50%. The collaboration utilizes Flybuy's location-based technology to optimize product picking based on the driver's proximity to the store. This initiative comes as grocery retailers face stiff competition from Walmart, which currently dominates e-grocery sales. The updated system, which has cut average wait times to under 2.5 minutes, seeks to improve efficiency for both shoppers and gig workers involved in the delivery process.
