Starting November 1, the U.S. will impose new tariffs on heavy-duty trucks (25%), medium-duty trucks (25%), and buses (10%), as per an executive order by President Trump. This decision aims to address national security concerns, highlighting the importance of these vehicles for essential goods and military logistics. Companies can offset some tariffs through free trade agreements, and manufacturers completing final assembly in the U.S. may apply for a tariff reduction. The order also allows the Commerce Department to adjust steel and aluminum tariffs for companies in Canada or Mexico supplying U.S. manufacturers.
