Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin subsidiary, has transformed a UH-60L Black Hawk helicopter into the autonomous S-70UAS U-Hawk, designed for air assault missions and showcased at the AUSA expo on October 13, 2025. The U-Hawk offers 25% more cargo space, with a modified structure for enhanced functionality and a fly-by-wire system allowing mission control via tablet. Capable of transporting heavy cargo, deploying drones, and facilitating air-ground resupply, it minimizes human risk in operations. Sikorsky aims to replicate this innovation affordably for future UAS developments.
