Air freight networks are adapting to stricter compliance and rising costs following the end of de-minimis on August 29, according to the Airforwarders Association (AfA). Executive Director Brandon Fried highlighted that forwarders now face increased duties, longer processing times, and more complicated returns, resulting in fewer but larger shipments. He advised forwarders to consolidate shipments effectively, invest in data management, and utilize Free Trade Zones for returns. The recent FIATA World Congress emphasized 'Green and Resilient Logistics,' with over 1,000 attendees from 100 countries. An upcoming AirCargo Conference aims to discuss industry modernization.
