Evelyn Palla will take over for Dr. Richard Lutz at DB.

Deutsche Bahn AG's Supervisory Board has appointed Evelyn Palla as the new Chair of the Management Board and CEO, effective October 1, 2025, following the departure of current CEO Dr. Richard Lutz on September 30, 2025. Chairman Werner Gatzer praised Palla's operational and strategic skills, highlighting her success in leading transformation projects at Deutsche Bahn since 2019. Lutz, who has significantly impacted the company over 30 years, will remain until Palla takes over. Palla brings extensive experience from various roles in the rail and technology sectors to her new position.
