APM Terminals’ West African Container Terminal (WACT) and the Nigerian Ports Authority have formed a strategic partnership to promote decarbonisation in Nigeria's port and transport sectors. This agreement, signed on September 22 in New York, aims to electrify containerised freight, aligning with the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy's policies. Both parties expressed optimism about Nigeria's potential to lead West Africa in low-carbon logistics. The initiative, funded by APM Terminals at $60 million, is expected to attract private investment, create jobs, and enhance energy reliability through collaboration across sectors.
