Canada Post employees, represented by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), have rejected two multi-year contract offers, prolonging ongoing negotiations. The contracts, covering urban and rural workers, were rejected by nearly 70% of voters. CUPW's National President Jan Simpson emphasized that the offers did not meet workers' needs and called for serious negotiations from Canada Post, which had proposed a 13.59% wage increase over four years. Labor disruptions have led to a shift in business to private carriers, raising concerns for Canada Post's future.
