President Donald Trump announced a "Full and Complete Trade Deal" with South Korea, proposing a 15% tariff on imports from South Korea while U.S. exports to Korea would remain tariff-free. The deal includes South Korea investing $350 million in the U.S. and purchasing $100 billion in energy products. Trump claimed that South Korea would be fully open to U.S. trade, accepting various American goods. The U.S. imported $132 billion from South Korea in 2024, with South Korea representing 3.7% of U.S. trade, and Trump has also reached agreements with other trading partners recently.
