Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has approved its 777-300ERSF freighter, known as the 'Big Twin,' to transport the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engine, a significant enhancement in air cargo capabilities. This makes the 777-300ERSF the second aircraft, alongside the Boeing 747 freighter, authorized to carry this large engine. IAI has received around 60 orders for conversions and is finalizing the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) with aviation authorities, expecting approval soon. Additionally, IAI is advancing its A330-300BDSF program, with STC anticipated by mid-2026.
