Rhenus has launched a new facility at the Port of Dortmund.

The Rhenus Group has officially launched a sustainable steel handling hub at the Port of Dortmund, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by local officials. This hub aims to enhance green steel distribution by using low-emission inland vessels for delivery from seaports and environmentally friendly transport methods like electric trucks and trains. The trucks are powered by a photovoltaic system on the hub's roof, making the entire supply chain more sustainable. This initiative allows steel producers to reduce CO2 emissions significantly and streamlines logistics by offering an integrated service.
