Tonnage from China to Hong Kong and Europe increased in June, while rates remained stable.

In June, air cargo tonnages from China and Hong Kong to Europe reached their highest levels of the year, increasing by 15% compared to June 2024, while average rates remained stable at $3.97 per kilo but decreased by 3% year-on-year. Globally, air cargo tonnages rose by 2% compared to last year but fell 4% from the previous month. For the first half of 2025, chargeable weight increased by 3% and average freight rates by 2%. Meanwhile, rates from Asia Pacific to the U.S. rose by 10%, despite a 15% drop in tonnages from China and Hong Kong due to new tariffs.
