Experts report that ocean spot rates decreased in June due to a decline in demand.

Ocean spot rates for cargo from Asia to North America have decreased due to low demand for U.S. shipments. As of late June, rates to the U.S. West Coast dropped by 7% to $5,593, while East Coast rates increased slightly to $7,183. This decline is attributed to slowing demand and increased capacity, particularly for the West Coast. Despite a recent increase in East Coast rates, overall spot rates are anticipated to continue falling due to a weakening supply-demand balance, with significant volume declines expected in the latter half of the year.
