American Airlines Cargo assists in the unveiling of the 8th Air Force memorial in Normandy.

Normandy, France recently inaugurated the first monument dedicated to the 8th Air Force, featuring four life-sized bronze sculptures transported from Boise, Idaho, thanks to American Airlines Cargo. This event, commemorating the 81st anniversary of D-Day, honored significant WWII figures: Staff Sgt Maynard Smith, Col. Robert Rosenthal, Gen. James Doolittle, and Col. Donald Blakeslee. The initiative underscores American Airlines' commitment to military support, having previously assisted veterans in attending D-Day anniversaries. The airline continues to prioritize logistical and symbolic acts of remembrance for military communities.
