Total air cargo volumes are expected to reach 69 million tonnes in 2025, a modest increase from 2024 but below earlier forecasts. Cargo revenues are projected at $142 billion, reflecting a decline due to reduced GDP growth and trade tensions. Although demand showed a 5.8% year-on-year increase as of April, uncertainty from trade policies may impact future demand. The industry anticipates a net profit of $36 billion, with total revenues hitting a record $979 billion. Additionally, the cost of sustainable aviation fuel is projected to rise significantly, posing challenges for airlines.
