Ostend-Bruges International Airport signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport on May 28, 2025, during the “Open Chengdu” Cooperation Forum. This agreement aims to enhance collaboration in air cargo and operations, connecting Belgium's regional airport with Chengdu, a significant global cargo hub. The deal is expected to improve supply chain resilience and market access between China and Belgium. Eric Dumas, CEO of Ostend-Bruges Airport, led the initiative, marking his last mission before transitioning leadership to Nathan de Valck.
