Adidas discreetly withdraws from the kangaroo leather market.

Adidas has announced it will cease using kangaroo skin for its products, with a complete phase-out expected by 2025. This decision follows a petition from Wayne Pacelle, president of the Center for a Humane Economy, during Adidas' annual meeting in Germany. The move aligns Adidas with other athletic brands like Puma and Nike in rejecting kangaroo leather, which has historically been used in high-end soccer cleats. Advocates view this as a significant step towards animal protection, while a new bill in the U.S. Congress aims to ban the import and sale of kangaroo products.
