WestJet Cargo has expanded its trans-Pacific operations by introducing daily year-round flights between Calgary and Tokyo Narita International Airport, utilizing Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft that can carry 22 tons of cargo. This service enhances trade between Canada and Japan, allowing for the swift transport of high-value goods, including perishables and industrial products. Director Julius Mooney emphasized the significance of this route for Canadian exporters. Bookings can be made through digital partners, and the cargo expansion aligns with WestJet's existing passenger services to Japan, boosting Calgary's position in global logistics.
