PIK and China Southern Logistics initiate their inaugural direct cargo flights.

Glasgow Prestwick Airport (PIK) has launched scheduled freighter services with China Southern Air Logistics, connecting Guangzhou to Prestwick for the first time. The inaugural flight occurred on May 16, 2025, with services initially operating four times weekly, aiming for a daily schedule to enhance cargo operations. PIK has invested GBP 2.3 million in equipment upgrades to accommodate large freighters. This new route is expected to boost Scottish exports, particularly seafood and whisky, with further airline partnerships anticipated.
