Air cargo markets in the Asia Pacific and globally continued to weaken in the week ending April 20, mainly due to the Easter holidays and uncertainties surrounding U.S. tariff policies. Air cargo tonnages from Asia Pacific dropped by 4%, with rates falling by 3%, while worldwide chargeable weight decreased by 6%. This decline mirrors last year's figures during the same Easter period. Unlike last year, rates this time fell across most regions, except Central and South America. Average global prices also dropped by 2%, influenced by significant declines in spot prices from Asia Pacific, Europe, and Africa. Traffic from China and Hong Kong to the U.S. fell for the fourth week in a row, with average rates dropping by 5%.
