JCB, a heavy machinery manufacturer, is expanding its San Antonio factory to 1 million square feet to mitigate the impact of President Trump's tariffs. The $500 million facility, expected to create 1,580 jobs with an average wage of $54,889, will begin production next year. While JCB has a significant global presence with 15,000 employees across 21 facilities, the San Antonio site will become its second largest. CEO Graeme Macdonald emphasized that the factory will help counter the short-term effects of tariffs, as operations in the U.K. and India continue until its launch.
