Brendan Sullivan, IATA's Global Head of Cargo, emphasized the urgent need to address safety concerns regarding undeclared or misdeclared lithium-ion battery shipments during the World Cargo Symposium in Dubai. He highlighted the risks these shipments pose to aircraft and lives, urging civil aviation authorities to enforce compliance and support ICAO's efforts to enhance safety regulations. Sullivan also stressed the importance of sharing threat information to tackle security risks effectively and underscored air cargo's essential role in global trade, including delivering medical supplies and disaster relief.
