Last week saw reduced volatility in global air freight, with the TAC Index reporting the Baltic Air Freight Index unchanged as of March 10, up 6.2% year-on-year. Recent trends indicate rising volumes and spot rates, possibly due to shippers preparing for anticipated tariffs or a market adjustment post-disruption. Rates from China showed mixed results; increases to the U.S. contrasted with slight decreases to Europe. In Europe, rates to the U.S. and Japan fell, while outbound routes from Chicago in the Americas saw a rise of 1.1% week-on-week, with overall rates from the U.S. increasing for various destinations.
