Mercedes-Benz has placed the largest single order of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) with DB Schenker, aiming to cut CO2e emissions by 40,000 tonnes through the procurement of about 13,000 tonnes of SAF for air freight from Frankfurt to Beijing and Shanghai. This partnership sets a new standard for sustainability in the automotive and logistics sectors, as both companies work towards their environmental goals. While SAF alone won't eliminate aviation emissions, it significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions, offering a promising alternative to conventional jet fuel.
