The White House announced that it will suspend tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico compliant with the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) until April 2. This suspension follows a recent exemption for car imports and aims to minimize disruptions in the automotive supply chain. Approximately half of Mexico's imports and nearly 40% of Canada's imports to the U.S. meet USMCA standards. The announcement comes after discussions between President Trump and Mexico’s President Sheinbaum, focusing on cooperation in addressing issues like fentanyl trafficking.
