The United States has delayed auto tariffs for an additional month.

The U.S. has announced a one-month tariff exemption on cars from Canada and Mexico under the USMCA, following discussions between President Trump and major automakers. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized that while this exemption is intended to prevent economic disadvantage for these companies, reciprocal tariffs will still commence on April 2. Trump also spoke with Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau, but no broader tariff pause was agreed upon. Meanwhile, Canada is implementing its own tariffs on U.S. goods, and Trump is set to discuss tariffs with Mexico's president soon.
