As of September 16, global air freight rates showed a slight increase, with the Baltic Air Freight Index rising by 0.9%, marking a 14.9% increase over the past year. While rates from Hong Kong increased by 21.6% year-on-year, those from Shanghai saw a decline. European routes, particularly from London, experienced significant gains, with an 11.4% weekly increase. However, outbound routes from Chicago fell by 10.6% year-on-year, despite some spikes in rates to South America and Europe. Overall, the market is cautiously observing potential seasonal trends.
