In 2024, Changi Airport Group managed nearly 2 million tonnes of air cargo, marking a 15% increase from the previous year and solidifying its status as Southeast Asia’s busiest air cargo hub and the 9th largest globally. This growth was fueled by a recovery in electronic exports and a spike in e-commerce shipments, partly due to shifts from maritime to air freight. Enhancements to infrastructure, including FedEx and DHL upgrades, and the opening of Changi Nexus One, have further increased capacity and sustainability efforts, including a significant solar energy initiative. Changi is also preparing for future growth with the Changi East Development project.
